Erm, they sure do seem like it. I'm not really sure. They are really stoned a lot though. . On the same day, this other guy who was really high wanted to foretell my future and when I didn't pay him any attention, he cursed me and said I'd suffer immensely . I hope he wasn't speaking on behalf of any deity.
this is exactly as i thought they were part of the shramanic momements! wow i wouldn't imagine they would get stoned that wasn't what i learned... 0_o in order to gain moksha they need to isolate themself from materials and humans.
Hahaha. Don't believe everything you read in the books. I've never really had a conversation with any of them (they *are* pretty intimidating ) so I'm not really sure but they say the weed holds religious significance to them. Something like- getting stoned increases their perception and makes them closer to God or whatever; only it's really just a trip. Lol. I don't know. Hey hold on! Okay there you go- [link] It's this festival that draws sadhus from all over India and Nepal, to Pashupathinath Temple in Kathmandu, Nepal, where I'm from. Might interest you!
I use Photoshop CS5. And I was just playing around with the different adjustments. You can get the yellowish tinge by playing around with the curves and/or the colour balance there. I'm not sure which software you use for your photos but I'm sure it would have a similar option. Basically, you'd want to increase the yellows. Hope that helps.
It's a photo from Pashupathinath Temple in Kathmandu, Nepal, where I'm from. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva (a Hindu deity) whose worshipers probably worship marijuana more! XD I took this shot around the time of the festival 'Maha Shivaratri' when Sadhus from all over the place flock to the temple! It's quite a sight.
